SweatX is a small group-training program designed to take your athletic abilities to the next level. With the use of ropes, box jumps, kettle bells, ramps, barbells, interval training and more, you will see your body change in a matter of weeks. Classes can be modified to fit any level of fitness and our elite “X Instructors” are always there to help you with form and to make sure you are getting the most out of every workout. The SweatX workout program is presently only available at Sweat Fitness Queen Village and One South Broad(classes starting June 18th).
Traditional SweatX: Our original SweatX program, held at our Queen Village location, combines strength training, conditioning, and mobility work into 1 jam-packed class. Participants will learn and perfect a wide range of exercise skills, utilizing a variety of equipment, all with the goals of increasing your athletic ability, exercise knowledge, overall fitness, and confidence.
Olympic Lifting Fundamentals
This technically-intensive course is geared towards athletes who have little or no exposure to formal lifting programs for the primary Olympic lifts and their variations: cleans, jerks and snatches. Olympic Lifting Fundamentals will familiarize the novice lifter with the barbell movements, mechanics and skills to confidently perform lifts that will improve power, strength, body composition and flexibility. Athletes can expect to perform a series of compound movements, including: cleans and clean variations, snatches and snatch variations, overhead presses, squats (front and back), deadlifts and pulls. Athletes will walk away with a better understanding of how to more efficiently produce power and a solid foundation of the body mechanics required to lift heavier weights and eventually begin a structured lifting program.
A cross-training class that takes participants through 4 separate metabolic conditioning style circuits. The class combines a variety of movements and equipment to deliver an intense workout with a fun team atmosphere.
Powerlifting For Everyone
Powerlifting is a strength sport which revolves around three main lifts: the squat, bench press, and deadlift. Beyond those lifts, we will focus on form, alignment and technique; identify muscular imbalances and provide individualized attention to all lifters. Whether you’re an experienced lifter or are only just beginning your journey into strength and physical empowerment, this class has something for everyone. No need to conform to any body type or ability. Become better acquainted with your own body’s mechanics, increase your confidence and self-esteem, and, of course, make #gainz.
Strength & Structure
Whether in everyday life or athletic pursuits, all people deserve to feel connected to their body and be proud of what they can achieve with it. Strength & Structure combines bodyweight training and mobility drills with elements of powerlifting and strongman training to help participants connect with their anatomy and perform as efficiently as possible wherever life takes them. After the last round, each athlete will be able to stand a little taller and feel a little more confident in their own abilities.

Growing up, Rick wasn’t interested in being an athlete in the traditional sense. It wasn’t until he got older and developed an affinity for martial arts that he found himself working out. Initially focused almost solely on bodyweight training and flexibility before adding barbell training into his regimen, Rick found himself fascinated by the capabilities of the human body as he learned more and more about strength and conditioning. This inspired him to share what he’d learned with others who were searching for an outlet they weren’t able to find, like he had been before falling in love with fitness.
Rick became an ACE certified personal trainer, and in his time, has trained with powerlifters, strongman athletes, and fighters, learning everything he can to incorporate into the programming of his clients as well as himself. He also studies Muay Thai, boxing, judo, and no-gi grappling, and is a firm believer in Bruce Lee’s philosophy of “Absorb what is useful, discard what is useless, add what is uniquely your own,” in all of the training he does.
