Spring is just a week away! What could be a better way to celebrate the change of season, while getting little closer to that beach body, than taking it to the streets? The SWEAT Fitness Run Club is back by popular demand! Whether you are a gym member or not, an advanced runner or a newbie – this Philadelphia Run Club is for any and everyone! Running experts and SWEAT trainers Orlin Howell and Josh Everetts will lead the weekly trot, which will start at the South Philly SWEAT Fitness. The route will be pretty easy, around 3-4 miles each week, and the pace will be set by the slowest runner. Here is our March 20th route:
To make getting outside even more enticing the Run Club will be ending every week at Jet Wine Bar! Jet will be featuring specials just for runners, including a fresh juice cocktail for $8 (so you can get your buzz on while getting down some nutrients) and another specialty cocktail for just $5. This event is completely free/open to the public and, just for showing up to Run Club, non-members will have the opportunity to try out one of Orlin’s classes at SWEAT the following week, for free! So if you run on March 20th, the first day of Run Club, you have the option to take one of the below classes the following week:
Monday, March 24 at 6:30 pm: Circuit Style Training, Queen Village location
Tuesday, March 25 at 6 pm: Cross Training (combining cycling, weights and running), Old City location
Wednesday, March 26 at 6:30 pm: Indoor Cycling, Fitler Square location
Run Club launches Thursday, March 20th – the first day of spring! The club will meet each Thursday at 6 pm at the South Philly SWEAT Fitness location (1509 E Passyunk Avenue) and end at Jet Wine Bar (1525 South Street). The inaugural run will be a breezy 3.2 miles. SWEAT representatives will pass around a sign up sheet at Jet for anyone who wishes to attend one of Orlin’s classes the week following Run Club.
